Dear Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers,
Welcome to Moosup Elementary School. While the summer seemed really short, the entire faculty and staff are ready for a great new school year. It is our privilege to welcome your children here each day. Daily attendance and strong home school connections are crucial for successful learning.
This Student-Parent Handbook has been prepared to help address many potential questions. The handbook includes district procedures, policies and regulations mandated by state law. Included are guidelines designed to provide all students and staff with a happy, safe and welcoming school community. It is a community in which respect, care and compassion promote student learning. Please visit our district website at www.plainfieldschools.org for updated information throughout the school year. There is also a link to the MES website.
Your child’s classroom teacher will provide your child with an orange Home to School Communication folder. This folder will go back and forth between school and your home every day. The folder is designed to hold notices/messages between home and school on one side and student work on the other side. PLEASE MAKE IT A DAILY PRACTICE TO CHECK YOUR CHILD’S BLUE HOME-SCHOOL FOLDER AND RETURN IT TO SCHOOL THE FOLLOWING DAY.
Communication between home and school directly affects your child’s success in school. Please do not hesitate to send in a note, call or email anyone of us. Classroom instruction can’t be interrupted but we will do our best to handle your calls immediately. If you are new to our district please fill out and return our volunteer form. We need you as our partner. In your child’s Home-School folder we are including blue “Quick Notes” which you may find convenient to use to communicate with school personnel. Let us know if you need more. Working together as a team, we know your child will experience a positive, productive, and rewarding year.
On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, Welcome and Thank You for sharing your children with us.
Sincerely,
William L. Nagel
Principal
